Parker French, a starting pitcher for the Longhorn baseball team, has been lost for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his right elbow.
The injury will not require surgery. French will be able to resume throwing in two months.
French underwent an MRI on Monday. French, a freshman from Dripping Springs, was diagnosed after he left the Longhorns’ game at Missouri on Friday with one out in the fifth inning, having allowed just one hit and one run.
French pitched in 21 games this season, starting nine. He had a 6-2 record and 2.84 ERA. French was particularly effective at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, pitching his first 33 2/3 innings there without allowing a run before Texas A&M scored two in the second inning on April 28.
