Augie Garrido

Legendary Texas baseball coach Augie Garrido has passed away.  UT announced the 79-year-old's death this morning calling him a once-in-a-lifetime personality who was brilliant and wise.  Garrido had recently been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.  He retired in 2016 as the winninest coach in college baseball history.  Garrido won five College World Series during his time in the NCAA, including two with Texas in 2002 and 2005.  He also coached at University of Illinois, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly, and San Francisco State.
