Austin Police Have Conditt's Recorded Confession

Austin police say there is a recorded  video confession from bombing suspect Mark Conditt, who killed himself  as police closed in on him early today.

Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said Conditt detailed seven explosive devices in his confession, and all of  those devices have been recovered.  He added that Conditt's confession indicated no influence of terror or hate, and described it as an outcry of a man talking about challenges in his life.

Manley remarked that the 25-minute video was recovered from Conditt's phone.

Two people died and four more were injured in the series of bombings  over the course of nearly three weeks in Austin.

Travis County  District Attorney Margaret Moore said the deaths were "random and  meaningless." She remarked that it's not exactly a happy ending for the  case, but she believes it's a good one for the community.
