Springer's Homer Lifts Astros Over Red Sox

Houston Astros v Boston Red Sox

George Springer's two-run blast in the top of the eighth proved to be the difference as the Astros beat the Red Sox 3-1 at Fenway Park. The homer was Springer's AL leading 17th of the season. Will Harris picked up the win, his first, and Roberto Osuna picked up his 11th save. Right-hander Ryan Pressly pitched a perfect eighth inning, setting a Major League record with his 39th consecutive scoreless appearance. Houston has won nine straight. Christian Vazquez was one of the few bright spot for Boston offensively, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and the lone RBI. Rick Porcello fell to 3-and-4, going seven innings and surrendering just the homer. The Sox have lost two of three.
