Dallas Being Considered For NHL Hub

Dallas is among ten cities the NHL is considering as a hub city if play resumes this season. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman says the league's restart plan is to go straight to the playoffs with 24 teams held in two hub cities in empty arenas. The Stars are fourth in the West and would play a round-robin tournament with St. Louis, Colorado and Las Vegas to determine first-round seeding. The remaining 16 teams would play a best-of-five play-in series.

The NHL Players' Association still must approve the format and health and safety issues would have to be worked out. Bettman says the 2019-20 regular season is effectively over with stats frozen. The NHL is aiming for a late-July or early-August return.
