Cowboys Decline Option On Leighton Vander Esch

The Cowboys will not pick up the fifth year option of linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. The team says salary cap worries are why they're declining the over nine-million-dollar fully guaranteed contract. It means Vander Esch will become a free agent at the end of next season. Dallas took linebackers Micah Parsons and Jabril Cox in last week's NFL Draft and also have Jaylon Smith and Keanu Neal on the roster.
