Liberty Hill Lady Panthers Pick Up 9th Straight Win!

The Liberty Hill Lady Panthers picked up their 9th win of district play defeating the Taylor Ducks 75-29 on Friday night. The Lady Panthers remain unbeaten in district play, with three more regular seasons games left to play before the playoffs begin. Liberty Hill will host Salado on Jan. 31st and travel to Llano on Feb. 3rd, with the regular season finale at home against Lampasas on Feb. 7th.

Liberty Hill struggled a bit in the first quarter as Taylor High brought enough energy and will to keep the Ducks within 7 points after a 17-10 start. The Panthers would find their rhythm in the second quarter scoring 24 points and allowing only three to Taylor to pull ahead 41-13 going into halftime. Junior forward Kandyn Faurie would score 14 of her 20 points in the first half for Liberty Hill, with junior center Sedona Prince also putting up 10 points in the first half of her total 20 on the game. The post duo continues to be a thorn in the side of every district opponent's defense this season. Liberty Hill would go ahead 56-21 in the 3rd quarter before finishing the game with a 75-29 final score. The Lady Panthers have played a variety of different line-ups with starters and reserves staggered together, giving head coach Chris Lange numerous options and match-up advantages as the games become more competitive in the playoffs.

Liberty Hill has a nice luxury of guards available in the starting line-up, and off the bench who can keep the offense and defense clicking. Senior guard Madeline Cheney knocked down two 3-pointers to go with her 10 total points, with junior point guard Bethany McLeod also adding nine points on the night. Junior guard Shaylin Vickers would score six points for the Lady Panthers, with juniors Elizabeth Buck and Kasye Bevers adding four points each off the bench.
