Mike McCarthy is officially the Dallas Cowboys head coach. He was introduced inside Ford Center at The Star this afternoon with owner Jerry Jones praising his team-building credentials and knowledge of football. Jones also says McCarthy communicates well with players while also comparing it to the team's drafting of Troy Aikman in 1989. McCarthy says Jones told him he needed to be Cowboys' coach when they met last weekend and is happy to be here. He was out of football this past season after being let go by the Packers in 2018.
