Chad Pinder hit a game-tying, three-run home run in the seventh inning as the Athletics rallied past the Astros 9-7 in Game Three of the ALDS in Los Angeles. Sean Murphy drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning. Mark Canha, Marcus Semien, Tommy La Stella and Matt Olson also went yard for the Athletics. Liam Hendriks got the win after three scoreless innings for Oakland, which trails 2-1 in the series. Jose Altuve and Aledmys Diaz homered for the Astros, who had a 7-4 lead going into the seventh inning. Josh James and Brooks Raley combined to give up five runs in relief for Houston. Game Four is Thursday.
