The Astros dropped their second straight game at home. Houston lost to the Boston Red Sox 4-1 in the series finale at Minute Maid Park. Alex Bregman hit his 20th home run of the season on a solo shot in the first inning. Starting pitcher Justin Verlander was charged with the loss and dropped to 3-and-3 after striking out six and allowing two runs through five frames. The Astros remain atop the AL West at 68-and-58. They travel to play the Baltimore Orioles tonight. Right-hander Spencer Arrighetti is scheduled to start opposite Baltimore righty Corbin Burnes.
