Jason Smith and Mike Harmon react to Jerry Jones saying the Cowboys are working on "two pretty substantial trades" ahead of the NFL draft. While many have dismissed it as Jones simply blowing smoke, Jason not only believes him, but thinks he knows exactly what the plan is: moving up for one of the draft's premier prospects.
Jason Smith: "I'll give you this bold prediction for the NFL draft... Think about how Jerry Jones likes to make the big draft day trade. When he can, he likes to make those moves and do something really bold... Who's the apple of the NFL's eye right now? It's Ashton Jeanty -- they all just saw the Eagles win the Super Bowl on the back of their star running back... I think Jerry is going to go up to pick four or five, and he's going to draft Ashton Jeanty. He'll move up with either the Patriots or the Jaguars, and he'll take Jeanty in the top five."
Mike Harmon: "This is exactly what Jerry Jones would do. The Patriots right now need to build up their interior. The Jaguars are so far from being a contender... Jeanty going there ain't solving anything! [In order to draft a running back that high,] you have to have everything else in place. The Cowboys do feel like they have the other stuff in place."
