Professional Video Game Playing Is A Sport

Liam Payne, Chloe Grace Moretz, Brooklyn Beckham and Caleb McLaughlin Host Xbox One x VIP Event & Xbox Live Session in New York City

We live in a time where nearly everything has it's own special day. Today that thing is Video Games. Yes, July 8th is National Video Game Day so get those controllers out and get to it!

Video games continue to grow in popularity. In part because of the technology and just how life like the animations have become. Animated version of your favorite athletes ACTUALLY look like your favorite athletes. Speaking of athletes, professional gamers are starting to be dubbed as athletes. Why? Because they play a sport (game) in which they compete against others and they then either win or lose. In events where winners receive prizes (usually cash) there are even audiences both physically and virtually. The E-Sports world is growing whether "real athletes" like it or not. So what do you think? Are video game professionals athletes? What else would you call them?
